
Our Story
Established on 20th June 1920, The Poona District Police Co-operative Credit Society Ltd. (Society Reg. No: 2966) was founded with a dedicated mission to support the financial needs of police personnel in Pune. Beginning its journey at Bhamburda Headquarters (now Shivajinagar Police Headquarters), the society started from modest beginnings but remained committed to the welfare of its members.
Over the years, the society has transformed from a small co-operative into a prominent financial institution, now serving 14,600 members. With a total share capital of ₹227 crore, we have become a trusted partner, offering a comprehensive range of financial services tailored to the unique needs of our members. Today, equipped with ISO 2009:2015 certification, we leverage advanced technology and fully computerized systems to provide efficient, secure, and seamless financial solutions.

Legacy of Leadership
The journey of The Poona District Police Co-operative Credit Society Ltd. has been shaped by visionary leaders who have steered the society toward success and growth. Their dedication and foresight have played a pivotal role in guiding the institution through the decades:
Late Mr. Dattatraya Balwant Waghmare (Secretary, 1945-1986): A cornerstone of the society’s history, he laid the foundation for financial stability and growth. His 41 years of leadership set the stage for the society's enduring success.
Mr. Vishwanath Krishnaji Vadke (Secretary, 1986-1988): Instrumental in enhancing the society's operational efficiency during a critical transition period.
Mr. Purushottam Laxman Jakka (Secretary, 1988-1997): Under his leadership, the society expanded its reach and introduced new financial services to better serve its members.
Mr. Suresh Soparnrao Bhosale (Secretary, 1997-2002; 2006-April 2015): A key innovator, he led the society through significant changes in financial strategy, greatly contributing to its growth and member satisfaction.
Mr. Ram Shankar Chaudhari (Secretary, 2002-2006; May 2015 - October 2015): Focused on modernizing the society’s operations, he laid the groundwork for future technological advancements.
Mr. Pradeep Dattatraya Waghmare (Secretary, since October 18, 2015): Currently leading the society, he has driven its digital transformation, ensuring members receive modern, efficient financial services.
Mr. Dyaneshwar Baburao Jagtap (Secretary, May 2017 – October 2019): Mr. Jagtap successfully managed the society during challenging times, ensuring its stability and growth.
Mr. Swapnil Chandrakant Kharart (Secretary, November 2019 – March 2021): As the youngest secretary in the society's history, Mr. Kharart handled his responsibilities exceptionally well, ensuring smooth operations.
Mr. Rajendra Kaluram Nagawade (Secretary, March 2021 – June 2024): During his tenure, he played a key role in significantly increasing the society’s fixed deposits, which had a lasting impact on its financial strength.
Mr. Pravin Uttam Khamkar (Secretary, since July 2024): Recently appointed, Mr. Khamkar has taken charge of the secretary position and is leading the society with fresh perspectives.
Mr. Balaji Vaijnathrao Satpute (Manager, since November 2, 2020): Mr. Satpute has focused on modernizing society’s operations, laying the foundation for future technological advancements. He has propelled society toward smart banking solutions, enabling members to access secure and efficient financial services anytime, anywhere. Under his leadership, the society achieved ISO 2009:2015 certification, marking a significant milestone.
Our Growth
The society has grown from a small group of members into a strong financial institution with a fully digital system, providing smooth and efficient services. We consistently earn an ‘A’ grade in government audits, showing our strong financial health and commitment to quality.
As we continue to grow, we focus on improving our services while keeping the trust we’ve built over the years. We aim to provide long-term financial security for all our members, ensuring a better future for the police community.
